I’ve recently received a lot of questions about scar tissue, how it works, can it be healed, and much much more. It’s a very interesting topic, and one that I’m not surprised gets a lot of questions. When you really take a look at the subject of scars, it’s mainly a cosmetic issue. It’s not so much an issue that could result in poor health or loss of life.
Any concerns related to scars are mainly personal to the person talking on the subject. When you really take a look at it, if people didn’t have such a picky eye for appearance, who would care about scars?
The only other real downside that I can see here is the possibility of damage being done form a scar opening. That could be a concern for some people.
Regardless of the reason why a person wants his or her scars removed, it is most definitely a big concern throughout the world.
So what’s the best way to remove scars?
Some would argue that the simple and fast way to get rid of scars is through cosmetic surgery, and particularly laser scar removal.
Skin grafts is a very common way to get rid of scars. The process is essentially that the doctor will take skin from another area of your body and use it on the scarred tissue.
Another common practice is through over the counter medicines. These are usually recommended by doctors after a surgery has happened so as to prevent scarring.
Doctors may also recommend and perform steroid injections (this are usually for scars that stick out).
Although we are not doctors, (and nothing in this blog is meant to be medical advice), I grew up with my mother applying vitamin E on injured or scarred areas to help the healing process. That and Aloe have always worked well for me. Again, I’m not saying it’ll work for anybody else! That’s just my personal experience.
So we’ve managed to cover surgical ways to get rid of scars, through a doctor that gives steroid injections, OTC medication and naturally.
I’m sure there’s more than just this. Please let me know if you’ve ever had success in removing scars, and what you did to accomplish that!
